Deborah Fox
Deborah Fox, and her husband Michael, have been responsible for the transformation of a beautiful historic grain mill into a thriving hub of art, craft and creativity.
Fisherton Mill has grown to include the largest independent art gallery in the South West of England, a charming gift shop showcasing local makers, a multi-award-winning Café serving the best local produce and 12 artists’ studios alongside regular arts and crafts exhibitions.
The venue also plays host to a wonderful array of workshops supporting skills development in arts & crafts for all levels, from upcycling and knitting to fused glass and felting
The Mill is a hugely significant part of Salisbury’s heritage as the only industrial building left standing in the medieval city centre. Built as a grain mill for William Main & Sons Ltd in the late 19th Century, the high ceilings, original pillars and cast-iron beams stand testament to its proud heritage as a working building.
Deborah and Michael recognised the significant contribution of the Main family who built and operated the Mill by naming the atmospheric exhibition space on the first floor “The Main Gallery”.
